Kate, we’ve never met but you left a card on my bike a long time ago, April 10, 2011(that was surprising easy to find on your blog). Anyways, I like to check out your blog from time to time to see the bikes and any information you post.  Something interesting is a bike journey that I recently made from Pittsburgh, PA to DC.  I did it in three days but I would recommend taking a longer time because three consecutive century rides in a feat on trails. And, if it rains!? Just hope it doesn’t rain because the C&O turns to mud! Any way just wanted to let you know that the journey is totally possible via the G.A.P. and C&O trails. It’s 332 miles and there are plenty of tent camping places on the way. If you do decide to do it, there are plenty of people that have already made the journey several times and you can find lots of important information on the web.  I’ve attached a picture of my bike in front of a Bessemer converter(it was used in the steel making process) in Pittsburgh.  Enjoy the ride!  -Jason
